Design of precision finishing method for cold extruded sun gear with internal-external tooth shapes

The dimensional accuracy of cold extruded sun gear is poor since the material flow considerably complex in forming process. A novel precision finishing method was proposed this study to improve dimension gear, and a new finite element (FE) prediction strategy developed obtain an in-depth understanding deviation distribution laws finished gear. Then, internal-external gears such as flow, tooth deformation, load, were analyzed using FE simulation verified experiment. investigation results show that single deviations profile helix both first diminished remarkably, then rose gradually, while M value decreased remarkably with increasing width. teeth are well agreed experimental ones, which verifies reliability strategy. Moreover, external can be improved from ninth seventh class, lead enhanced tenth eighth total internal spline reduced 72.3 ?m, proves feasibility effectiveness method.
